Kílala Lelum Covid 19 Response

March 24, 2020
To all of our members,

We are your care providers and we will continue to care for you throughout this Covid 19 pandemic. This situation is serious. It is an emergency, particularly for the Downtown Eastside. As a community, we need to act now!

To stop the infection from spreading from one person to another we need to create physical distance between each other. This is called “social distancing” or “physical distancing”. This means that you need to stay home unless absolutely necessary. You must not have people come to your home. You must not visit others.

If you need to go out, keep six feet or two metres away from everyone at all times. That’s about the width of a car or the length of both of your arms stretched out. Wash your hands frequently. Avoid all gatherings. Call everyone you know and tell them to do the same.

The time to act is now. If we do this well we prevent an overwhelming wave of infection and save many lives in the Downtown Eastside.

If you have questions or become ill, call us at 604 620 4010. We can do this, but we can’t wait one more hour or one more day. We will all get through this together.

Stay safe and stay healthy.
