Programs
Kilala Lelum’s programs are led and guided by an interdisciplinary team of Elders, Knowledge Keepers, Physicians, Counsellors, Nurses, Social Workers, Dieticians, Outreach Workers, and Medical Office Assistants. As a team, we strive to provide “wrap-around” care that is culturally-safe, trauma-informed, member-centered, and emphasizes harm reduction.

Primary Care
Our primary care practice is located at 626 Powell Street. We provide a team-based, comprehensive “patient medical home” model with an emphasis on cultural-safety and health equity.

Cultural Wellness Programming
Our health centre offers a multitude of Elder-led, relationship-based care services that honour physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual healing.

Mobile Outreach Program
Our Mobile Outreach Program (MOP) provides outreach primary care services to individuals in Vancouver whose healthcare needs have not been met by more conventional models of care.

Case Management
Our Nurses, Social Workers, and Outreach Workers provide daily support and outreach to our members most at risk of “falling through the cracks” in the health system.

Food and Nutrition Service
Food instability is a challenge for our members on the DTES, especially for the members that are HIV positive. Supported by our Community Health Worker peers, our Relational Care space offers daily breakfast, snacks, and a hot lunch for our members.

Research
Our health centre actively takes part in, and leads, collaborative, community-based research in order to improve the quality of care for our members.

Education and Training
The centre is a training site for the family practice residents within UBC’s Aboriginal Family Practice Residency program. The program looks to introduce residents to the unique strengths of Aboriginal people arising from their culture and community and any specific health challenges that may exist in the community.

DUDES Club
The DUDES Club facilitates a participant-led community for our male members’ wellness, which prioritizes supportive relationships, engagement in health care, and Indigenous world views.
